[ARCHIVED] Movies in the Park Features Disney Lineup

STEAMBOAT PARK AMPHITHEATER IMAGE

Pierre’s Recreation Department will bring three Disney classics to the Steamboat Park Amphitheater this July. It’s part of the City’s annual Movies in the Park program.

“We project movies onto a giant inflatable screen that sits on the stage; we have a sound system as well,” said Mindy Cheap, City Recreation Superintendent. “We invite anyone who’d like to see the movies to grab a camping chair, some snacks, and come on down!”

The first movie, Dumbo, will be shown at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12.

“Everything is weather permitting, and show times are approximate,” said Cheap. “We try to start the movies at dusk.”

On July 19, Movies in the Park will feature The Jungle Book at 9:15 p.m.; on July 26 at 9:00 p.m., Pinocchio will be shown.

“The movies are a fun and unique way to enjoy a movie with the riverfront atmosphere we have here in Pierre. It’s a lovely setting,” said Cheap.

All three movies are free and open to the public.
