East Second, between Grand and Euclid Avenues, will close to through traffic on Tuesday, April 20. Limited local traffic access will be maintained. The section of street is expected to reopen by the end of the month.
The closure will allow the city to install new curb and gutter prior to resurfacing the street later this season.
The city maintains 80 miles of streets, more than 100 miles of water main, and more than 60 miles of sanitary sewer. Each year, city staff assess the streets, in addition to utilities, sidewalks and curbs to prioritize street maintenance and reconstruction projects.
