[ARCHIVED] Library Reopens with Restrictions

After being closed to walk-in traffic since March, Rawlins Municipal Library is reopening to limited walk-in traffic tomorrow morning.

“With the guidance of the Library Board, our COVID reopening plan will happen in phases,” said Robin Schrupp, Library Director.  “We’ll start with reduced hours, limited foot traffic, and adults-only services.”

Schrupp went on to say that the Library will continue to offer curb-side service just as it has since the pandemic began in March.

To keep staff and patrons safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, the following practices are in place at Rawlins Municipal Library.

  • Library Hours: Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Patrons will need to verify healthy status upon entering the building.
  • People under the age of 18 will not be permitted in the building.
  • Patrons are strongly encouraged to wear masks when in the building.
  • Patrons should use the provided hand sanitizer before entering the main library.
  • Patrons are advised to maintain six-foot social distancing recommendations when in the library.
  • Patrons should limit their library visits to 30 minutes.
  • Some portions of the library are inaccessible to the general population.

“Library staff will do their utmost to disinfect materials and surfaces, but we cannot guarantee personal safety,” said Schrupp.  “Using a public building, even with protections in place, carries an element of risk.”
