Four informational sessions have been scheduled to educate the public about the Outdoor Pool Committee’s plan to replace Pierre’s current pool.
Those meetings are scheduled for:
- Thursday, March 7, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce
- Saturday, March 9, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Pierre City Hall
- Monday, March 11, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at River Cities Transit, Dakota Room
- Tuesday, March 12, 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Pierre City Hall
The meetings are open to the public. Committee members will be on hand at each of the meetings to answer questions about the proposal.
The Committee presented the plan to the Pierre City Commission on February 19. For more information, visit cityofpierre.org and click on the Outdoor Pool Plan link.
In February 2018, Mayor Harding appointed a Municipal Outdoor Pool Committee. The volunteer group was tasked with developing a conceptual design to replace Pierre’s current 90 plus-year-old outdoor pool. Burbach Aquatics, a pool consulting firm, was hired by the City to facilitate the meetings and serve as a technical expert to the group.
