Shady Ladies Taking Over Public Library
Pierre, S.D. – If you’re looking for information on shady ladies, look no further than Rawlins Municipal Library.
As part of its National Library Week celebration, the library will host a program about the history of Pierre’s Missouri Avenue. Between 1880 and 1885, the street was rife with shady ladies, bordellos and gambling halls. Ken Stewart with the South Dakota State Historical Society will present all the details of the era. The program starts at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, at the library. Seating is limited.
National Library week is April 9 -15. Throughout the week, the library is offering special contests, puzzles and trivia sheets. Patrons who complete them will be entered into a drawing to win a Kindle E-Reader.
