Water Outage Planned Tomorrow
PIERRE, SD –A small strip of eastern Pierre will be without water for about four hours tomorrow morning.
City water customers living on the south side of Wells Avenue, between Polk and Pierce Avenues will be impacted. Water will be shut off about 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 28. Barring any unforeseen complications, water service will be restored by 12 p.m. on Thursday.
The water service will be shut down temporarily to allow the city to replace a malfunctioning water valve. Preliminary excavation work will be done Wednesday, July 27.
The Pierre Water Department is notifying impacted customers individually.
The City of Pierre maintains more than 100 miles of water main and, annually, provides about one-billion gallons of water to its customers.
