City of Pierre: Advisory Board Members Needed
Pierre, SD –The City of Pierre is looking for volunteer advisors, and you could be one.
Two community advisory boards, the Historic Preservation Commission and the Library Board, have positions open, and Mayor Laurie Gill is inviting community members to consider serving on these boards.
“If you’re interested in the library programming or preserving the history and culture in Pierre, I encourage you to submit a board application,” said Mayor Gill. “This is a great opportunity to help shape the future of these programs in Pierre.”
Advisory boards provide ideas and recommendations regarding planning, development and policy changes in a variety of subject areas.
The boards meet on a monthly basis and those appointed to the Historic Preservation Commission or Library Board serve three year terms. Board members are volunteers and are not compensated for their service.
Those interested in serving are required to complete an application. If you’re interested in serving on one of the boards, contact Laurie Gronlund at 605.773.7341 or via email at Laurie.Gronlund@ci.pierre.sd.us.
