Pierre, S.D. – After a four-month winter hiatus, Pierre’s Municipal Golf Course will open for business this weekend.
The driving range will open at 11 a.m. this Saturday. The full course will open for the season on Wednesday, March 16.
Carin Hayn, PGA Professional and Hillsview Manager, says that she is excited about getting the driving range open so early in the season.
“Customers will have to wait until the morning frost melts away, but otherwise the recent warm weather trend has allowed this opportunity for early play,” said Hayn. “It gives our customers a chance to get ready for opening day.”
Customers wanting to purchase season passes or range plans can do so at the clubhouse. Memberships can also be purchased online at cityofpierre.org or in person at City Hall.
Hillsview Golf Course is 175-acre, 18-hole, par-72 championship course. In 2015, more than 30,370 rounds of golf were recorded on the course during the 234 day season.
