Pierre, S.D. –Staff at Rawlins Municipal Library are hoping you get snowed in this winter.
The Library’s winter Read-to-Me program is themed Snowed in with a Good Book and designed to encourage family reading time.
“Winter months are really a great time to utilize reading as a family activity,” said Robin Schrupp, Rawlins Library Director. “It gives parents an opportunity to share special moments and give their children undivided attention.”
The program, open to children from birth to age six, begins Monday, January 11 and runs through Thursday, February 11. The library will provide reading logs to each child participating in the program. Caregivers record all the books they read with their children. For every 10 books read, the child will receive a prize and a snowflake for the Library’s wall display. Participants can complete more than one reading log.
The program will wrap up with a party on February 11. All participants are invited to the Library at 6:30 for kids’ activities and refreshments.
