Capital City Baseball Association (CCBA), with the generous support of local sponsors, recently purchased four Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to place in the four concession stands operated by CCBA within the City of Pierre. The concession stands are located on City of Pierre sports fields at the east fields of the sports complex, Griffin Park baseball field, Riggs baseball field and the La Barge Park baseball field. Mayor Laurie R. Gill, Commissioners Steve Harding and Jeanne Goodman gathered with the sponsors and CCBA leadership to thank them for this purchase.
Games are played Monday through Thursday evenings at all four locations from May thru July. The nine sponsors who contributed $500 each and fully funded the AED purchase include: Bankwest, American Bank and Trust, First National Bank, Dakota State Bank, Delta Dental, Brosz Engineering, Wind Circle Network, Leimbach Construction and Avera St. Marys. CCBA President Eric Booth wished to thank Matt Judson of First National Bank who was the driving force in gathering the sponsors to support the effort. CCBA has approximately 300 kids playing baseball this spring.
