The Pierre Lady Governors volleyball team served up multiple bags of trash on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014.
As part of a service project, the varsity team picked up trash that had collected along the road ditches and fence line near the airport and along North Airport road. The freshman and sophomore teams walked Steamboat Park and collected trash and tree limbs.
“I want to publicly thank the volleyball team for helping keep Pierre clean,” said Mayor Laurie Gill. “It’s great to see young people take such pride in our community.”
Community service is part of the varsity lettering process for the Riggs volleyball team.
