RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT

The recreation programming goals of the Pierre Parks, Recreation, Golf and Cemetery include:

  1. To provide the opportunity for all youth to participate in competitive and informal activities.

  2. To help in the development of the individual – physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally.

  3. To help individuals to develop a permanent interest in sports and recreation so that they may become better spectators and participants.

In order for these goals to be met it is expected that leaders (volunteers and paid staff) do the following things:

  1. Providing age appropriate instruction for the different programs.

  2. Providing a safe environment for all children.

  3. Being a good role model and teacher.

  4. Communicating with the children and parents.

CITY OF PIERRE MISSION STATEMENT

The City of Pierre is committed to provide the services that promote a high quality of life for all citizens.
