PLUMBERS

Section 10-9-101. License required.
All plumbing contractors and sewer and water contractors doing work within the City of Pierre will be required to be licensed by the City of Pierre.

Section 10-9-102. Fee for license.
The license fee for plumbing contractors and sewer and water contractors shall be fifty dollars ($50.00). Such fee shall be paid to the city finance officer before such license shall be issued.

Section 10-9-103. Licenses issued by city finance officer.
The plumber's licenses provided for in this chapter shall be issued by the city finance officer and the license fee shall be payable annually on the 1st day of January of each year; such license shall be issued for one year at a time or for such fractional part of a year as may be necessary so as to terminate all licenses on the thirty-first day of December next following.

Section 10-9-104. Permits to nonresident plumbers - fee.
Nonresident, qualified, plumbers may be issued permits by the city finance officer for constructing the work such plumber or plumbers may have under contract. Such plumber is specifically prohibited from doing any work other than that which is specified in the permit. The fee for such permit shall be twenty-five dollars ($25.00) and shall be paid to the finance officer of the City of Pierre.

Section 10-9-105. Liability for acts of agents and employees.
Every licensed plumber shall be held responsible for the acts of his agents or employees done under and by virtue of his license. No plumbing license shall be transferable.
Section 10-9-106. Requirement to remove defective or unsanitary plumbing.
Any defective plumbing and unsanitary condition caused by defective plumbing shall be repaired, replaced or removed promptly on due notice by the city inspector.
