OFFENSES INVOLVING MORALS

Section 8-4-101 to 199, inclusive.  Offenses involving morals - general provisions.

Section 8-4-101.  Gambling statutes enforced - seizure of equipment.

It shall be the duty of the city police department to enforce the provisions of state law relating to gambling and games of chance and to seize in a lawful manner any equipment, implement, or money used in connection with illegal gambling or games of chance.

Section 8-4-102.  Prostitution statutes enforced - prostitution unlawful.

 It shall be the duty of the city police department to enforce the provisions of state law relating to prostitution; and no person shall engage in or solicit for prostitution, or frequent or maintain a house of prostitution.

Section 8-4-103.  Unlawful to lease room, house, or building for illegal purpose.

No person shall knowingly let, lease  or provide to another any room, house, or building for the purpose of prostitution, illegal gambling, illegal use of alcohol or drugs, or other illegal activity within the city or within one mile of the outer boundaries thereof.  Any person after having been informed that such room, house, or building so let or leased by him is being used for such purpose by the lessee or any other person shall immediately take all legal measures to recover possession thereof.

Section 8-4-104.  Unlawful to make insulting advance or salutation in any public place.

No person shall make an impudent; licentious advance, touch, salutation, or gesture to any person upon any street or in any public place.

Section 8-4-105.  Unlawful to appear in any public place in a state of nudity or to make an indecent exposure of one's person.

No person shall appear in any public place in a state of nudity, in indecent dress nor make any indecent exposure of his or her person.

Section 8-4-199.  Violation of article as misdemeanor - penalty.

Any person, firm or corporation convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this article is guilty of a second class misdemeanor and subject to fine and imprisonment as provided by section 1-3-101.
