CURB LINES AND GRADES

Sections 6-2-101 to 199, inclusive. Curb lines and grades - general provisions.

Section 6-2-101. Curb lines established.

The curb lines in the city as set out in schedule "A", now on file in the office of the city engineer are hereby established as the official curb lines for the city.  Schedule "A", as amended from time to time is hereby incorporated by references herein and adopted as a part of this chapter.

Section 6-2-102. Public or business driveways across curb lines.

Public driveways over or across curb lines for filling stations, public garages, retail and wholesale business establishments shall not exceed forty (40) feet in width, and where two driveways are constructed along one street line there shall be a minimum of twenty (20) feet between each driveway except as otherwise approved by the City Engineer.  No driveway shall be constructed within ten (10) feet of any block corner.

Section 6-2-103. Private driveways across curb lines.

Private driveways over and across curb lines shall not exceed thirty (30) feet in width, except as otherwise approved by the City Engineer, and such driveways shall not be constructed within fifteen (15) feet of any block corner. There shall be a maximum of two (2) driveways per zoning lot and the minimum distance between driveways shall be twenty (20) feet.

Section 6-2-104. Grades of streets, alleys and curbs established.

The grades of the streets, alleys and curbs in the city as set out in schedule "B", now on file in the office of the city engineer are hereby established as the official grades of the streets, alleys and curbs for the city.  Schedule "B" as amended from time to time is
hereby incorporated by reference herein and adopted as a part of this chapter.

Section 6-2-105. Improvements to be on grade.

All persons desiring to construct permanent sidewalks, curbing, roadways, paving or other permanent improvements upon the streets, avenues, roads, alleys or other property of the city shall first ascertain the established grade and shall build such improvement according to the established grade.
